Editorial board and reviewers

We aim for an editorial board and reviewer pool that is diverse in country and region, gender, career stage and discipline — bringing together clinicians, nurses, informaticians, computer scientists, data scientists, public health experts and social scientists. We actively invite qualified women researchers and experts from low- and middle-income countries, and we will report board composition by country and gender.

Authors and research

Digital health can reduce inequalities or deepen them. JMIDH therefore asks authors to report the characteristics of the populations whose data were used to build and test tools, to evaluate performance across relevant subgroups, and to discuss who may be left out — for example people without smartphones, with low digital literacy, with disabilities, or who speak languages not supported by a system. We encourage research from resource-limited settings and in Indian and other regional languages. Reporting of sex and gender should follow SAGER, and language should be respectful and person-first. JMIDH charges no fees, so cost is never a barrier to publication, and non-native English is not a reason for rejection when the science is sound.
