JMIDH is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics. The journal follows the Core Practices and flowcharts of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the ICMJE Recommendations, and the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing. These duties apply to authors, reviewers, editors and the publisher.

Duties of authors

•     Submit original work and report methods, data and results honestly and in enough detail to be reproduced; never fabricate, falsify or selectively report data, results or model performance.

•     Cite all sources properly, including code, datasets and pretrained models; avoid plagiarism, text recycling and redundant publication, including republishing conference papers without substantial extension and disclosure.

•     Include as authors only those who meet authorship criteria.

•     Disclose all funding and competing interests, including commercial interests in software or AI products.

•     Obtain ethics approval and protect the privacy of patients and users whose data are used.

•     Share code and data as described in the journal’s policy, and provide raw data or code to the editors on request.

•     Report errors in published work promptly and cooperate with corrections.

•     Never use paper mills, purchased authorship, fake reviewers, citation manipulation or undisclosed AI-generated content.

Duties of reviewers

•     Provide objective, constructive and timely reviews within their expertise.

•     Keep manuscripts, code and data confidential and never upload them to generative AI tools.

•     Declare competing interests, including links with competing products or companies.

•     Report suspected ethical problems or misconduct to the editor.

Duties of editors

•     Decide on manuscripts based only on scientific merit, validity, reproducibility, relevance and ethics.

•     Evaluate manuscripts without regard to authors’ gender, religion, ethnicity, nationality, institution, seniority or political views.

•     Ensure fair double-blind review and confidentiality.

•     Manage competing interests, including their own submissions.

•     Investigate complaints and allegations under COPE guidance and publish corrections, expressions of concern or retractions where needed.

Duties of the publisher

Corvus Medical Press guarantees editorial independence, publishes accurate information about the journal’s policies, ownership and indexing, ensures permanent access through digital preservation, and supports editors in handling ethical issues.
